2012 Hunter Host Program
A key part of the Governor's Deer Hunting Opener Event is to give the media and Minnesota dignitaries the opportunity to experience what hunting is like for Minnesotans. The participating dignitaries, including television, newspaper and broadcast media, have a range of hunting skills; some are very proficient hunters while others have very little familiarity but are aiming to tell a story.
As a hunter host, we commend you for showcasing your hunting camp and embracing the role of an ambassador of our great Minnesota deer hunting tradition. We appreciate your willingness to share your deer camp which will help to deliver positive, compelling stories of our beloved deer hunting tradition.
Volunteering as a Hunter-Host can be a rewarding opportunity for your entire camp! Hunter-Hosts play a critical role and chosen camps will be honored guests at the festivities which will include sponsor gifts for your camp.
The Governor's Deer Hunting Opener organizers will pair media and dignitaries with Hunter-Hosts based on a number of criteria. Not all volunteers will be selected to act as Hunter-Hosts. Deer camps or hunting locations must be within a reasonable distance from Winona, MN.
If you have a hunting camp in the Winona area or know someone who does and would be interested in applying to be a hunter host for this year's event, please click HERE for an application. For questions contact MDHA at 218.327.1103 ext. 14.
